Be Thou At Peace
Posted by John Bradley on April 25, 2001:
Frank and I bounced into each other occasionally as cadets because whenever there was an initial regimental listing for any activity we seemed to be in the same alphabetical group. That happened in Jump School where we were lined up in alpha order in our jump sticks. While going through Jump School, I never knew that Frank's dad was such an important part of the early airborne forces.
After settling in Houston, I found that Frank was in the area, and after some time we met again as members of a small group of graduates that got together periodically for home-and-home suppers.
Unfortunately during that time, we learned that Frank's wife was ill with cancer. After her death, we did not see Frank again.
In about 1997, after I went into business for myself, I called Frank and we had lunch together and then he visited my office. I was hoping that I could provided some services for him or his company. We talked about his work in his equipment leasing company and his need to train his associates nationwide. He spoke about his family. I enjoyed spending some time with Frank, and planned to get together again. That never happened, but I never suspected that Frank might have been ill himself.
We were all shocked and saddened when we learned of his death. Frank was a kind, decent, and unassuming man who moved quietly about his life. RIP.
