I was in OBC with Chris at the time of his death, as were many of our classmates. I can tell you that, even to today, his departure is a sad reminder of the mortality of us all. Here we all were, at the very start of what were sure to be brilliant careers, and suddenly the spectre of death overshadowed us all. Personally, I missed Chris then, and still miss him today. His warmth and generosity, his infectious sense of humor, and his enthusiasm for life were a boost to us all, both at West Point, and at Fort Sill. His departure, sudden and seemingly senseless as it was, left all of us a little emptier inside. I trust that Chris is with Our Lord now, serving Him instead of our country, and I am consoled knowing that Chris is able to intercede for us all to the Father. We miss you, man.
