Be Thou At Peace

Posted by George Lawton on August 16, 1998:

It's hard to believe that Jim has joined the ranks of the Ghostly Assemblage for he had such an unbeatable and positive spirit. Whenever I think of the phrases, "the power of your convictions" or the "power of positive thinking, I am reminded of Jim. I am convienced the reason that he lived as long as he did after he was diagnosed with cancer, was that he believed in himself,he participated in his treatment by studying and asking questions, and that he reached out to others. When many of us might have given up, he pressed on with a positive attitude.

He valued his Class of '58 connection. He always wanted to know what the class was doing so that he could schedule his treatments at NIH in Bethesda to coincide with a '58 or Company I-2 get together so he could see his many friends.

Rae, although the loss we suffer is only a small part of what you and the rest of his family must be experiencing right now, we love and will miss him also. We will always be there for you. I am sure he is already organizing our 1st heavenly reunion.
