| Gus, even though you and Kevin Keating blew the curve for me, Norb D., and all the others struggling with plebe Chinese, we always had great respect for your intellect and academic abilities. Your spirit, humor, and zest for living was infectious and memorable, and I recall more than once you helped us out of a bind in our Chinese language class duties like the great cadet and friend that you were. I can still, some 23 years after plebe Chinese, remember you sitting there with a cattish grin and reciting Chinese like a native, knowing that you had not spent ten minutes preparing for that big WOPR, while others such as myself had spent hours preparing to fight for that "D". Rest in peace, Gus. |
