Mac was one of the finest cadets in our '58 class. Good looking, super in sports, and mild tempered. Mac was the kind of guy that you would want in your foxhole when things got tough. John Herren and I were roommates at the Career Course (Ft. Benning). Mac came by our apartment one night in uniform. To go out on the town he needed to be in civies. we outfitted him with our clothes. He looked like a 12 year old kid-pants were about 4 inches short, likewise the shirt, about up to the middle of his forearm. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen. Mac was an incredible guy who would do anything for anybody. We loved Mac. Frankly,we love Mac (present tense) since he will be in our lives forever. CN Toftoy '58 |
