Be Thou At Peace

Posted by George Sibert on June 29, 2005:

'58 lost its class bugler on 23 June. Mel Drisko played TAPS at Pensacola Mini in Apr 2002, at our 45th at West Point in Sep 2003 and at the Alamo during San Antonio Mini in Oct 2004. This trumpeter also played TAPS for the services of over 150 veterans in the Richmond area. A super Soldier who continued to serve long after his 1986 retirement as USMAPS Com. He served as Com for five years (1981-1986) and positively influenced the lives of myriad Prepsters, future cadets and officers. His legacy lives will live on for many years...

Mel was also a faithful attendee at the Officers of the First Division annual dinner. The 2d Infantry veteran officers and his other classmates who attend the dinner will miss Mel at this April affair.
