My lasting memory of Jim ocurred in 1960 on the ski slopes of the Hanenkam in Austria.......the snow had turned to ice and Harriet and I were not good skiers and had fallen many times.....plus we had lousy equipment........and we were fighting.......suddenly, a man in black swoops down the steep slope and sprays ice as he pulled to a stop in front of us and said "Hi Orlie"........Harriet was crying from falling and I was mad at her and had a total mental lapse as who this handsome fellow was before me that knew my name and had 1958 on his parka. He was so gracious and such a beautiful skier that Harriet and I will always remember him for that event. Thank you Jim Emmons for entering our lives. Sincerely, Orlie Hill, D-1 |
