Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Robert E. D'Amore on June 2, 2006:

I knew Jim as a cadet and we C-1'ers were so taken with him we included him in many of our off-post activities. He was gracious enough to reciprocate by inviting four of us and our dates to spend Xmas 1957 at his parent's home in Newport, VT. I'll never forget Jim leading us across the border into Canada and the trouble we had trying to get back into the US. Jim was just so much fun and such a great friend that despite not seeing him since graduation each time I go to a hill climb in VT. I always tell my fellow racers about 'the great guy that used to live up the road in Newport'. I had always hoped I'd run into him again and until that time, be thou at peace, Jim.
