Be Thou At Peace

Posted by R.G. "Ben" Franklin on May 20, 2007:

Words can barely express my gratitude for having known Alex. Our acquaintance really began when I moved to Arizona in 1990. Soon he had me roped into doing chores for the West Piont Society of Phoenix, which he almost single-handedly rescued from near oblivion and nurtured into a prestigious "Distinguished Society." Along the way, he fostered a Leadership Award program for junior high schools and a community leadership award for distinguished citizens. It is so fitting that Alex was honored by the West Point Society of Phoenix with that award in 2007. I'm sure more will be written of these and Alex's other contributions. But enough cannot be written of Alex's character and his devotion to the ideals of Duty, Honor, Country. In an unassuming way, Alex was simply but extraordinarily a devoted husband, loving father, devout Christian, dedicated citizen, avid West Point supporter and one heck of a fun guy to be around. And that all showed, all of the time. Thanks for the memories, Alex. You will be missed.
