| As Al's roommate I got a good dose of his sense of humor and ever present smile, just what was needed to navigate the cadet system. Like the comments from Frank Harlem and Hal Lyon I too was treated to a weekend in Schnectady at his home. It was the first time I tasted Pizza which was homemade by his mother and now remains a lunchtime favorite. Before graduation, I gave Al an old set of golf clubs that were given to me around 1950. Al never played much so they suited him fine. Over 50 years later at our 45th, Al mentioned to me that he still played with them. Who needs new technology! |
