I knew George McDowell, met him in Houston at the WPS meetings. He was the perennial "Oldest Grad" at the Founders' Day Dinners, always giving a new speech, different from the previous years. We had some common threads. He said he spent all four of his years in the 13th Division (of Central Barracks); I was in the 13th Div in Beast Barracks and then lived there Firstie year (in my squad leaders' room). But we also attended the same high school in Dallas. It was Adamson High for me and Oak Cliff High for him. I remember him well and relish my association with him and with his wife.
