Be Thou At Peace

Posted by mary elizabeth murphy on October 15, 2014:

Ret. Col. Maxwell Cole Murphy Jr. was my father. He was a graduate of the class of June 6, 1944. D-Day. He was an amazing man. He served his country with honor and integrity. He lived his life with same principles and he taught his 5 children to do the same. He referred to us as the 'troops'.....He was my hero. He lived his life like only a select few do. His story is amazing, yet he never was boastful about it. I'm so proud to say that I am Ret. Col.Maxwell Cole Murphy Jr.'s youngest daughter. Our father passed away on August 21, 2014. He was at peace as all of his children were there to say goodbye and I love you. My heart aches in a way I never knew it could. My father had a deep and positive impact on every life he came in contact with. He now rests with our mother. I love him and miss him everyday.
