I knew Stewart in Vietnam. I was an in country hire when he was in charge of the CSC operation in Vietnam. I greatly appreciated him as a manager and for his wisdom and personal and professional mentoring. I know that he was an honest and descent man who had to deal with corrupt and dishonest people at USAID and CORDS. I heard that he was promoted to Brigadier General in the Air Force Reserve. I was especially glad to hear that because I knew how much archiving that rank meant to him. I was so sorry to hear that he had died so soon afterward. I am honored to have know him not just as a project leader but also as a friend and mentor. Richard Keefer CSC |
