Joseph A. Jansen was my father. I will share just one story about him here. Toward the end of his father's life, his Dad was heard to exclaim "Gee, did you hear that Joe made General?!". This did not happen, which led my dad to wonder within my hearing if that had been that important to his father. I will always be glad that I then said quite spontaneously "Dad, in my eyes you have always been a general." His whole face relaxed and he gave me a very warm smile. Thanks for stopping by.
