Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jerry Burton on March 11, 2002:

Hello!

My condolences on the loss of Major Blazina! I was a crewchief in 'A' flight at the time and was there the morning Major Blazina preflighted F86D #089 and was launched! The knowledge that he had gone down on takeoff and killed cast a huge pall over us all. I remembered him as a good pilot. He flew my own aircraft on several occasions as I recall. I came across this item and was saddened by the memory of it still. An incident such as that never leaves a flightline mechanic's memory and it affected us all.

I applaud you, maam, for honoring your husband in this way and be assured you are joined by many who will keep his memory alive! God bless Major Blazina and you and your family!

Best wishes,

Jerry Burton
crewchief 526th FIS
