I had the privilege and fond memories of growing up with Stan B. In his backyard there was a treehouse built about 30 feet up the tree. Many hours were spent up there kid-talking. Stan wa a natural born leader--he was older than most of us but gentled us along. We liked to go to the local grocery store on Friday nights and each get a pint of ice cream and devour it along with our Monopoly game. We also would congregate for our daily bike ride to school about a mile away. On his Christmas break from his first year at West Point I remember his coming to my front door in his full uniform and coat--Wow! Quite a guy!! |
