West Point, 1946

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by JOHN DRAKE on April 11, 2020:

Gen. Gannon was a patient of mine at the 130th Station Hospital in Heidelberg. I have some very fond memories. He and I became friends and because of him my career took a new path. He once told me that one of two things would happen to me, I'd either end up in Leavenworth or accomplish great things. He was right, btw, I didn't end up in Leavenworth. Gen. Gannon has, was, still is a part of my life. He was a Great friend, I'm blessed to have been lucky enough to know him.
P.S. No one would believe some of the things I did, that amused the General and a few that he was kind enough to cover for me.
