| Colonel John P. Doolittle was the younger of 2 sons of General James H. "Jimmy" Doolittle and his wife, Josephine Daniels "Duchess" Doolittle. He selected "Air Corps" upon graduation, then transferred to the U.S. Air Force when the Army Air Force (AAF) became a separate branch of service in September, 1947. He served for 29 years in the USAAF & USAF, retiring in 1975. He died in Pebble Beach, CA. |
