Be Thou At Peace

Posted by David Hubbard on February 5, 2016:

Donald W. Dreier was "Mr. Dreier" to me, and to this day he remains the most impressive "parent of a friend" I've ever known.

Mr. Dreier personified class, honor, humility and rectitude, all with a welcoming personality and a warm sense of humor. His son, Chip, was my best friend through elementary school.

Recalling Mr. Dreier from my childhood in the 1970s, I remember these things particularly well: He was a competitive tennis player; he was a fan of Lou Gehrig; he watched The Carol Burnett Show; and he drove the classiest-looking car in town, a beautiful Jaguar.

Mr. Dreier always had a funny comment or a kind word to say to me. He was a good person. I am so sorry that his wife and children lost him at far too young an age.
