I honestly believe that Dad is up in heaven working his tail off. But once in a while, he sends a message to let me know he is still involved in our lives. So here is the story. We were at a trade show Monday, and one of the people that we were sharing the booth with is a Web dev company in Merritt Island. This girl and Derm started talking the usual chitchat. And somehow Army stuff came up. And it turns out that her dad was Robert Ives class of ’45, and her uncle was Babe (Albert) Ives II, class of ’46. < http://www.west-point.org/users/usma1946/16088/ Mom says she knew Bob Ives and of course Babe was at Benning for Infantry Officer's Basic Course. Not sure where else their paths crossed, but you know the Army. Anyway, Amelia Ives has become my new best friend. She was her father’s caregiver when he died of cancer in ’06. I told her she needed to get the obit info to me so that I could get you to pass it on to www.west-point.org. Dad is always doing something like this to remind us of him.
