Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Irving B. Schoenberg on April 29, 2015:

"Full Bull", Bob Ward's e-mail address said a lot about him. Some folks might think that he liked to tell tall tales, and skirt around the truth. But those folks would be 180 degrees in the wrong. His ever-present sense of humor never failed to please an individual or many individuals, depending on the situation.

What Bob really wanted to convey was that he was wearing the "Eagles" of a full colonel in the Army to which he was so dedicated, and that he so much respected. He was not a lieutenant colonel who just didn't quite reach that elevated two-winged position.

How will the Class of 1948 remember a man who had so much character, wit and dedication to his Class? They will remember him from cadet days as the Head Cheerleader who was determined that by his broadcasting through his megaphone that the more you cheered the better off we all would be. Cheered about what you were doing so that he as Class Scribe could let all of our Classmates know that they and their spouses and children were all important to us all. And he was going to make sure that the word got out accurately and quickly.

There was also one very important part of Bob's life. A woman named Beji, his life partner, and what a partner she was. They were two peas in a perfect pod.
