Howard Lynn "Bud" Strohecker died on April 29,2002 in Portland, Oregon.

Strohecker was born in Portland in 1925. He graduated from Lincoln High School. He served in the Army for 35 years, including during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars.

A graduate of West Point, Strohecker was a building contractor in Savannah, GA, before returning in 1992 to Portland, where he worked at Strohecker's family grocery store.

About 1991, he married Mary Fairchild. Survivors include his wife; sons, Brad and Scott; and brothers, Wayne and Keith. His son Geoffrey died in 1998.
