Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Sharon Heath on September 2, 2013:

Over 40 years ago I purchased a bracelet from an MIA organization with your name and the date you went missing on it. I wore that bracelet every day for years, looking down at your name, wondering about you, the circumstances and praying they would find you. The bracelet wore out and broke but I simply taped it up and continued to wear it until it became impractical. I put it in a drawer but every now and then I checked your name until recently I came upon the Arlington Cemetery website and found the information for which I'd waited. I am so relieved your family, friends and country have been able to put you to rest in a place befitting your sacrifice. I found that bracelet and buried it deep in a garden at my home. Every time I work in that garden I will think of you, your courage, dedication to duty and sacrifice.

May God's perpetual light shine upon you.
