John Dickerson Mitchell Jr. JULY 6, 1927 -- MARCH 6, 2018 Obituary of John Dickerson Mitchell Jr. IN THE CARE OF Murphy Funeral Homes John Dickerson Mitchell, Jr. (Colonel US Army, Ret.) of Hollywood, MD died following 4 years residence at the Arleigh Burke Pavilion Nursing Home in Mclean, VA. John, like his father, graduated from the United States Military Academy (West Point) in 1949 and served as an Electrical Engineering instructor there. John had a lifetime interest in amateur radio, jazz music, and musicians. He earned graduate degrees from Stafford University and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. John is survived by his brother George (Mary) and Nephew David. Inurnment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. |
