Leslie Whittington Kirkpatrick HOME OF RECORD: Littlerock, Arkansas Silver Star AWARDED FOR ACTIONS DURING Korean War Battalion: 2d Battalion Division: 24th Infantry Division GENERAL ORDERS: Headquarters, 24th Infantry Division, General Orders No. 73 (1951) & 561 (1951) CITATION: - SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to First Lieutenant (Infantry) Leslie Whittington Kirkpatrick (ASN: 0-59140), United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in connection with military operations against the enemy in Korea while serving with Company E, 2d Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division.
