Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Susan Lee Hindman on July 18, 2008:

COL Harold Frederick ("Hal") Lombard, USA, Retired, USMA Class of 1949, was one of my Father's best friends! My Dad was LTC Edward Roy Hindman, Sr., USA, Retired, who passed into the presence of our loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 12, 2005 at 4:16 a.m. COL Lombard was the first and only USMA classmate who posted his Personal Eulogy on this website in honor of my Dad after his passing on September 15, 2005. When I discovered and read COL Lombard's Eulogy about a year after this, I was very touched that he had so rapidly responded and told of his great friendship with my Dad while cadets at West Point. I sent him an email twice and he responded once and I felt he was a very good man! I was shocked and sad to learn today that Dad's good friend himself passed on two months ago in May 2008. Please keep reading these Eulogies and post them whenever another of your dear West Point classmates pass on. I pray that God will save each and every one of your dear souls for Jesus Christ loves you so very much! March on, dear brethren and soldiers of the cross, and keeping fighting the good faith of our Lord Jesus and be a brave soldier to the very end and to our Lord's second coming for it is very near! And please put on your spiritual armor daily in faith as in Ephesians chapter 6, and stand on the promises of Psalm 91 which is your guarantee of divine protection from God Almighty at all times! Please also read Matthew chapter 24 and II Timothy chapter 2 in the New Testament of the Holy Bible. As the great hymn of the Church written by George Duffield, Jr. with music composed by George J. Webb says in 'Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus', "Stand up, stand up for Jesus, ye soldiers of the cross; lift high His royal banner, it must not suffer loss; from victory unto victory, His army shall He lead, till ev'ry foe is vanquished and Christ is Lord indeed. Stand up, stand up for Jesus, the trumpet call obey; forth to the mighty conflict in this His glorious day. Ye that are men, now serve Him, against unnumbered foes; let courage rise with danger, and strength to strength oppose. Stand up, stand up for Jesus, stand in His strength alone; the arm of flesh will fail you, ye dare not trust your own. Put on the Gospel armor, each piece put on with prayer; where duty calls, or danger, be never wanting there. Stand up, stand up for Jesus, the strife will not be long, this day, the noise of battle, the next, the victor's song. To Him that overcometh, a crown of life shall be; he with the King of Glory shall reign eternally!" If you would like to make Jesus Christ your personal Lord and Savior, please just bow your head and your heart and pray this prayer of confession: "Lord Jesus, I ask you to forgive all of my sins and I repent of them all. I accept you now as the Son of God and believe that you died for my sins upon the cross and shed your precious blood for me. I believe that you rose again from the dead and ascended up to heaven and sit at the right hand of God Almighty and are coming back again someday soon! Come into my heart right now and be my very own personal Savior and Lord! I forgive everyone who has ever hurt me. I receive your love and light and your free gift of eternal life into my life right now and take me home to heaven when it is my time. Change me, Lord, and I will serve you now and forevermore and give you all the praise, honor and glory! Praise the Lord!"
With very much love in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
Your kind sister always,
Susan Lee Hindman
