Art and I met as volunteer readers for the educational organization, Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic (RFB&D). I had never met a professional military man before. The kind and thoughtful man I came to know completely changed my preconceptions of career military, although I believe Art was a rare gentleman in any profession. Hundreds of students' educations were enriched by hearing their textbooks through his voice, my life was enriched by having him as a friend. I will miss him. Imogene Bessett |
