MALCOLM LEWIS OBITUARY
LEWIS, Malcolm K. Malcolm K. Lewis, of Lake Clarke Shores passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017, at the age of 90.

Malcolm was born in West Palm Beach on May 19, 1927 to Attorney Roger Kenneth Lewis and O'Rhea Lewis (Clarke).

He attended Palm Beach High School and graduated in 1944. He served as the President of the Key Club and was elected the first President of the Key Club International.

Malcolm attended Marion Military Institute in 1944-45. In May of 1945 he joined the U. S. Navy and while at Bainbridge Naval Training Center he received an appointment to the U. S. Military Academy, West Point, NY from Congressman Dwight Rogers. He graduated in 1949.

He was stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas, Ft. Sill, OK, and Ft. Bliss Texas. In 1950, he was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division ("Big Red ONE") 32nd Field Artillery Battalion, on occupation duty in Germany for 4 years. Upon return to the States he served with the 47th Infantry Division at Fort Benning, Ga, the Artillery Advanced Training Class at Ft. Sill, OK then as ROTC instructor at Florida State University.

In 1956 Capt. Lewis left active duty and assumed a 23 year career as a U.S. Army Reserve as a Corps of Engineer officer serving as a C.O. of "C"841st Eng.BN (Combat) and later with 3220th U.S. Army Garrison Unit, returning as a Colonel in 1979.

In 1956, Malcolm entered the University of Florida and received his degree in Civil Structural Engineering. He was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft for 30 years as Senior Civil Engineer and Test facilities Engineer working on numerous jet and rocket programs.

Malcolm married Mildred Funk on March 22, 1975. Together they resided in Lake Clake Shores and have been very active in the community. Malcolm served as Town Councilman since 1989. Malcolm was a member of Holy Trinity church for 77 years. Together he and Mildred have served together for many years.

Malcolm is preceded in death by the mother of his children Carolyn Jackson Lewis and his son Edgar Jackson Lewis "Skipper".

He is survived by his wife Mildred of 42 wonderful years. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Roger K Lewis (Liz), his daughter Wendy Lewis Allen (Richard), his son Malcolm K. Lewis, Jr."Kim" (Ginny) and his step children Nancy Pund (David), and Joe Funk (Connie). He has 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren that knew him as "Grandad". He will be dearly missed and always loved.

A Celebration of Life Service and full Military Honors will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 1:00PM at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 211 Trinity Place, West Palm Beach, FL 33401.
