Be Thou At Peace

Posted by George Crall on December 6, 2011:

I first met Bob at Cornell where we were USMAPS. We went from Cornell to Fort Benning where we placed in an Infantry School progam similar to Infantry OCS.

One day we were sitting in bleachers watching a BAR demonstration. In those days, as the war was winding down, the instructors were from units around the globe and they were fantastic. One instructor fired a transition course and scored an amazing number of hits. We were properly impressed.

The head instructor reached into the bleachers and grabbed Bob and told him try the course. Bob made a virtuouso performance, and to this day, I can see Bob calmy plunking off target after target - a perfect score.

Be thou at peace Bob
