Uncle Doug, my mother's (Elizabeth Bush Sammons) brother is only a faint memory now. I was about 3 and remember him sitting me in his lap and later remember my mothers sobs when the telegram arrived to say he was missing in action. Recently I found a book "From the Hudson to the Yalu" detailing some of his life. Doug was a natural born leader and a true warrior. I try to keep his memory alive.
