Obituary

Retired Lt. Col. David (Dave) Benjamin Rogers, Jr. (USA), 90, passed away January 12, 2016.

David was born December 21, 1925 in Tuscaloosa, AL to David Benjamin Rogers, Sr. and Madie Bell Wood Rogers.

Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret D. Rogers. He leaves his children: David B. Rogers, III; Mary Catherine (Cathy) Cook and Stephen L. Rogers.

Dave was a graduate of the West Point Military Academy, class of 1949 and a veteran of the U. S. Army serving 30 years before retiring.

He spent another 10 years in civil service in the Washington DC area.

He was an avid sailor and he and his wife spent several years sailing the Chesapeake Bay and the Intercoastal Waterway before moving to Brevard County Florida in the late 1980s.

He and Margaret spent their last years in Stuart Florida.

David’s cremains will be laid to rest in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.
