AWARDS BY DATE OF ACTION:1 of 1 Silver Star AWARDED FOR ACTIONS DURING Korean War Service: Army Division: 1st Cavalry Division GENERAL ORDERS: Headquarters, 1st Cavalry Division, General Orders No. 67 (1951) CITATION: (Citation Needed) - SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to First Lieutenant (Infantry) James Henry Scholtz (ASN: 0-59349), United States Army, for gallantry in action while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an armed hostile force while serving with the 5th Cavalry (Infantry) Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, in action against the enemy in Korea from 1950 to 1951. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army. |
