William Henry Marslender HOME OF RECORD: Beaufort, North Carolina William Marslender graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1949.
Silver Star AWARDED FOR ACTIONS DURING Korean War Service: Army Division: 1st Cavalry Division GENERAL ORDERS: Headquarters, 1st Cavalry Division, General Orders No. 1 (1951)
CITATION: (Citation Needed) - SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to First Lieutenant (Infantry) William Henry Marslender (ASN: 0-59389), United States Army, for gallantry in action while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an armed hostile force while serving with the 8th Cavalry (Infantry) Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, in action against the enemy in Korea on 7 September 1950. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
