The first time I met General Mackmull I was a dependent playing football on Fort Bragg. We were practicing on Smoke Bomb hill one afternoon when a helicopter landed in the middle of our practice field. (His LZ)! Out hops the General and he deviates from his path to a waiting staff car to come over to the team and ask us if we were winners and took the time to tell us to never give up in football or life! I met him many times after that, but I never will forget the first time! Rest in Peace Sir! Airborne All the Way! |
