Be Thou At Peace

Posted by John Ward on October 6, 2006:

I remember Major Breakiron (for that is how I will always think of him) as one of the officers I most admired as a cadet . I never had the opportunity to have him as a Tac, though I recall him speaking to us during a summer detail. Many years later, I had the chance to work with him on West Point Heritage projects, including a small contribution to his book, and on things such as the First Division inscriptions and West Point-org. I know his last years were hard, but he never complained or slackened in his efforts for all of us. Rest, soldier, thy warfare o'er.
