As a fellow member of E-1 and the football team, we became very good friends. This was kept alive at a few reunions, annual Christmas greetings, and a surprise meeting on Waikiki Beach during one of his and Carolyn's usual winter sojourns at the Hale Kola. A noteworthy remembrance: company wrestling class. If you were the "down" man, he would press the one nub into the top of your hand to distract you -- then attack. He was a solid citizen, both during and after his military career. A good man! |
