From the time Howard and I were together as shavetail second lieutenants in our first assignments at Fort Campbell, KY, we remained close friends. Every time I had the pleasure of his company he vividly remembered those days. Howard was an especially good person and an exceptional friend. His indelible smile and warm heart were uplifting to everyone he met. I miss my special friend.
