Be Thou At Peace

Dear Jim:
I have been meaning to try to get in touch with you for many years now....I now see from the NY Times that I am too late. I am truly saddened by your death. The article in the Times told me so much about your life since I last saw you after you returned from Korea. What a wonderful career you have had! I looked at the description of your book, and admire your putting that together. It looks like a major task.

I, too, became an author,as well as an educator. While you were designing buildings, I was designing schools and programs for adults returning to college. And, we both became parents and were fortunate to have had lovely families.

You were an important part of my youth, my college years, the West Point years. I regret that we did not stay in touch.

I am sending my sincere sympathies to your family...Myra, Julianne and Peter and their families. I lost my husband of 54 years in 2009 at the end of our trip to China. I know the pain and deep sadness of losing a lifetime partner. I am so sorry that I am too late to re-connect with you. With fond memories, Ellie
