Gaillard Alvin Freimark (Mr. Freimark) As a neighbor in my youth, Mr. Freimark holds a spot on his own in my heart. Many projects and tasks he involved me in doing around his properties. I've learned alot from him in landscaping, various power equipment, and home maintenance. Most of all I learned character building traits. I didn't understand military discipline at that age, but I knew Mr. Freimark had something most people didn't have. Now I know he was a retired Colonel. Duty, discipline, mutual respect for all people, and dignity was his character. He provided me with advice for life sometimes as well. "If you don't have the money for it, you save for it, never buy on credit", he would say. I've tried to live up to that, but haven't fully succeeded in accomplishing it. We lost a Life hero on March 18, 2009. See you soon neighbor. |
