Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Todd P. Sovern on September 18, 2004:

If one were searching for a individual who, throughout his lifetime, represented the finest example of the kind of officer one would expect to be a product of the West Point tradition, then one would have to look no further than Col. Stanley B. Sovern.
Of this you can be certain - If he were here right now for one to ask what made him the superlative officer and championship human being that he was every single moment of his life - he would answer, "I owe it all to the corps."
He was the greatest, most extraordinary man I ever met. In fact, if you were one of the lucky people who knew him personally - he was the greatest man YOU ever met too.
There will never be any words that could approach a fraction of how proud and honored I am to be able to say that Stan Sovern was my I.P. and my dad.
