Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dave Wilcox on January 7, 2011:

I worked for Ames Albro while in New Orleans and Offshore on the Freeport McMoran Main Pass 299 Project----Walk Haydel and Associates. I have Photos of the Project and remember meeting with Mr. Albro, several times. He interviewed me for my Job in the Safety Dept. He was "straightforward and honest". I remember so vividly and tell the story often to my friends, of my returning from Offshore and was called to the Main Office in New Orleans. The Meeting involved a Verbal Incident while Offshore. Another Office Safety Manager had met with me/reprimanded my file and instructed me to see the Vice-President, Mr. Albro, for possible further punishment. Mr. Albro reviewed the paper-work/asked my side of the story..............then, he ripped the paper into shreds/throwed it into the trash can.....and stated "Wilcox, you can go back to work....I never did like that other Man"............WOW!!!!, Never did blink a eye........What a Leader!!....What A awesome Man!!!....true to his word.....God Bless Him and his Family .............Please Note: I reviewed some old Photos recently of the Offshore Project and thought of Mr. Albro.....another co-worker had mentioned to me on the Project he was a "Decorated Hero".....only now, I researched/discovered all of his "great achievements". Thank You, Mr. Albro for the opportunity!!!!!!!!!
