Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Jessica James Scovel on May 25, 2015:
The morning sun reaches out Touches everything as it seeks The Flags are raised to remind Everything you stood for Waves proud in a subtle breeze
Love surrounds your memory So real it's taken a life of its own Were you ready for death? I wasn't ready for you to leave me Gone but not forgotten Gone but still so alive
What I wouldn't give for your arms around me once more What I wouldn't give to hear your footsteps on the floor So sturdy and so sure Of where you were going and your purpose there for You taught the man who taught me You opened blind eyes so they could see Life is such a beautiful gift I only yearn for one wish To tell you how thankful I am How you are why I am You are the reason I believe in life after living You are the reason I have survived the beginning
I need you to know what you mean to me If I never said it then, I hope now you can see You are everything I long to be So brave, so strong, a wild bird set free. Fly fly away...
I love you and will see you again someday. Til then in my heart soul and mind you will stay So perfect, so intelligent, proud in the best way I will hear everything you say.
I love you.
