| Joe and I were roommates for three years at West Point. I ran into Joe and his family when both of us were assigned in the Washington area in the 1960s and again in 1976 when we were assigned to Offutt AFB. We maintained contact after both of us retired and I had the honor of attending his funeral in Hampton, VA. Joe was a warm, loyal friend and I value the time we had together. I know how much his family treasured him and their unquestioning love for him was and is an inspiration for me. He was buried in a Civil War cemetery in Hampton among the fallen from a Massachusetts regiment. Joe was from Springfield, Massachusetts and I am sure he appreciates the company. |
