Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Valerie Weiler Ireland on May 27, 2013:

Lt. Col John Weiler was my father. He served two tours in Souteast Asia, stationed in Thailand as an electronics warfare tech on the B-52. He was survived by 4 children: Valerie Weiler Ireland; Teresa Weiler Bazan; John Nicholas Weiler Jr. and Andrew Weiler. He was also survived by his loving wife Rosemary Weiler, many siblings and his mother Laura.

My dad was my hero, a man who took an active role raising us. He saw to it that we experienced the culture of every place we were stationed. He taught us to revere the outdoors and took us camping frequently. He taught us to honor our country as the leader of the free world. He taught us that with great privilege comes great responsibility, for both service and financial tithing. He was God fearing and very loving.

I still miss him. RIP Daddy.
