Arthur K. Sirkis of Hackettstown, N.J., passed away quietly at his home with his wife by his side, on Jan. 15, 2013. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown. Burial will be in Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Hackettstown. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on May 3, 1931, Arthur graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn and received a Congressional appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point. After graduating in 1954 and proudly serving as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, Arthur graduated from New York Law School in 1968 and was admitted to the bar in New York and New Jersey. Arthur founded his law firm in Hackettstown.

Throughout his 40 year career, he was very well known, highly respected, and greatly appreciated for his hard work, compassion and dedication to helping his clients.

Arthur enjoyed bicycling, gardening, and was a passionate traveler. His memberships included Hackettstown Kiwanis, West Point Society of New Jersey, Jewish Center of Northwest New Jersey and the Warren County Bar Association.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Phyllis (Neher); five children, Jonathan (Laura), Boulder, Colo.; Jane Przada (Jerry), Dallas, Tex.; Daniel (Brenda), Yardley, Pa.; Joan Lavery, Hacketttstown and Ann Miranda (Mason), Boston, Mass. and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Louis and Michael, plus many nieces and nephews.

The Sirkis family has requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to RWJMS, Mouradian Laboratory Research Fund.
