Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jack Porter on May 9, 2009:

Brick was a good friend, a respected classsmate, and a true gentleman. He also became a fine officer and a loving husband and father.

Bud Passmore and I roomed with Brick during our last 2 1/2 years at West Point. We were with him when he met Lorrie and throughout their courtship, and we ushered at their wedding a few days after graduation. I well-recall their lovely wedding and how delighted they both were on that occasion.

I was pleased to learn of Brick's return to active duty following the brief interruption of his military career, and enjoyed the opportunity to visit him while he was serving as an aide at Fort Hood. Although we occasionally corresponded, our paths didn't cross again until much later when he and Lorrie visited us during their retirement years on one of their cross-country RV trips.

Although we were aware of Brick's failing health, it was still a shock to learn of his death.

Rest well, dear friend.
