I had the distinct honor and pleasure of meeting and serving with Col Bob Marcrum at Ft Monmouth NJ from the early 70s until the 80s. He was a devoted soldier and family man. Bob served in several capacities during our long tour at Ft Monmouth. He was CECOM SGS; Director of Pers and Traing; Chief of Staff; and Commanding Officer HQ and Installation Support Command. He was the finest Officer and friend that I have ever served with. Integrity, loyalty, honesty and professionalism were his attributes. He was an excellent staff writer. I learned a great deal from our discusions and preparations of staff positions for the CG of CECOM. Above all, he was a warm and caring friend. I miss him and treasure our long military and personal friendship |
