I was a cadet at the USAF Academy 1957-1961. Then "Lt Yeager" was one of young Service Academy grads that served as our upperclassmen. He was also in charge of bayonet training. I have never met a more inspiring leader as Joe Yeager. His motivational speeches were "Patton-like" and he always motivated us to narrow the gap between our will and our ability. When I find myself slacking I think of Joe Yeager and I try harder. May this troubled soul rest in peace. |
