Edgar Dilts American Tobacco Co. DURHAM, N.C. -- Mr. Edgar Louis Dilts of Durham, N.C., a seasonal resident of Winter Haven, died of cancer Thursday (Dec. 26, 2002) in Winter Haven. He was 73. He was born in Durham, N.C., on June 30, 1929. He was a retired supervisor in the engineering department for the American Tobacco Co. in Durham of 31 years. He attended Duke University and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Mr. Dilts is survived by his wife, Shirley Dilts, Winter Haven; daughter, Denise D. Newton, Durham; son, Edgar L. Dilts Jr., Fort Lauderdale; brother, Charles R. Dilts, Durham; three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Steele's Family Funeral Services, 207 Burns Lane S.E., Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, Winter Haven. |
