Be Thou At Peace
Posted by The Arceneaux Family USNA 2015 on July 24, 2011:
Dear Bower Family,
We have a son just starting at the Naval Academy this summer. I cried when I read about your son, Jacob. Your family is in our prayers. Know that your son was truly extraordinary. Physically and academically, he could do what most young people his age cannot do. Most importantly, your son was willing to do what most young people his age are not willing to do - put others above himself and serve our country. You must be very proud of him! Your son was a role model and touched many people throughout his life. News of his passing has touched many people, including everyone with a son or daughter at a service academy.
When we wonder why God allows tragedies to happen, the only consolation is that His only Son was allowed to suffer and die as well. God's own Son was treated no differently. Please know that others in the service academy family are grieving with you at this time of great sadness.
